I purchased this charger to replace the low-quality PS180 that came with my FireStorm 14.4 volt cordless drill. As others have said, it works with 14.4 volt FireStorm battery packs. I now have two perfectly good packs again.
I purchased a lesser-quality battery charger before this one. It quickly fried itself on a bad battery. This one detected that bad battery without committing suicide. If you're looking for a Black & Decker charger, you should buy this one.
This product was just what I needed.I plugged the unit in as soon as I unpacked it.put the drill battery in the charger and within 1 hour the battery was fully charged.this charger works great. I would not hesitate to purchase from this supplier again.excellent product and service.
I bought this to replace the broken charger for my Black and Decker tools. I wish i would have broken it earlier, my tools work stronger longer. after inspecting the charger when i received it, it is designed well and won't break from simply putting the battery into the charger, like my old one. I expect many years out of this product and my newly charged batteries.
I would recommend this item only for Dewalt power tools. Also maybe there is some variation within the Firestorm battery product line. The Dewalt dealer that I took it to agreed.
Mine does not. Why two different battery configurations for the same family of tools, I don't know. Many have commented on Amazon, that this charger will work with Black & Decker Firestorm.
I also have a Black & Decker Quantum Pro drill battery, that fits perfectly & charges fine. Although the Firestorm battery is in good working condition, no expansion from heat or broken parts, the prong attachment does not fit properly with Dewalt charger. At first I thought it was stuck, but it fits so tight, it's not a good thing for either the battery or charger.
Maybe the Black & Decker chargers have a tolerance for both sizes. Anway I will now have to look for a separate charger for my Firestorm battery, so live and learn.
